Shoplifter in Hrútey
July 3 - August 28, 2021

On the charming island Hrútey in Blönduós, there is currently an art exhibition that will be open until the 28th of August. This is an outdoor work by the artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir or Shoplifter as Hrafnhildur calls herself. In her work, she sets up the natural pearl Hrútey and her artificial works of nature as parallels that can also be seen as contrasts, groups or opposite reflections. Hrafnhildur, who lives in New York, is one of the nation's leading contemporary artists and represented Iceland at the Venice Biennale in 2019, but her installation, Chromo Sapiens, attracted a lot of attention and was considered one of the highlights of the exhibition.

In recent years, ambitious cultural activities have been conducted on the farm Kleifar by Blanda. The events have attracted a lot of well-deserved attention and have been very well attended.
