INTRUDER Shoplifter / Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir

In Shoplifter's art display Intruder, she set up the natural pearl Hrútey and her artificial works of nature as parallels that could also be seen as opposites, groups or opposite reflections. Hrafnhildur's main material is nylon hair, plastic and other synthetic materials, which she processes with various traditional textile techniques, e.g. floats, shears, felting, knots, braids and sewing, but in some cases the material is also heated, burnt, melted, dyed or painted. When the desired thickness and texture was achieved, she created rugs, tassels, ropes, ribbons and other things that she used to create the final work of art. She transformed that material into tufts, plants, shovels, flowers, shrubs, trees, rocks, guards, and rocks. The photographs were taken by Vigfús Birgisson.
